Schoeps KMIT Mono Set with CMC 1 U Amplifier
The Schoeps KMIT is compatible with all amplifiers of the Colette series and is paired here with the CMC 1 U analogue amplifier . The KMIT is also compatible with the CMC 6. The KMIT also works with the new Schoeps CMD42 digital amplifier so SCHOEPS now offers for the first time a digital shotgun microphone that can be controlled via their Remote App.
Among the analog amplifiers, Schoeps generally recommends the CMC 1 due to its small size, optimal interference protection, and high maximum sound levels. The CMC 1 L amplifier with miniature Lemo connector allows for an especially compact setup; the CMC 1 U has a somewhat longer, standard XLR connector.
The built-in, steep high-pass filter allows the KMIT to be used without issues on a boom. The steepest cutoff occurs when a CMC 1 is used.
The KMIT's sound quality is the same as that of the CMIT 5/MiniCMIT, apart from slight differences in high-pass filtering that depend on which amplifier is being used. The choice among CMC 6, CMC 1 U/L or CMD 42 will mostly be determined by practical circumstances - the size and weight of the setup, and the availability of an AES42 input.
