The MD 421-II is one of the best known robust legendary cardioid microphones in the world. Its excellent sound qualities enable it to cope with the most diverse recording conditions and broadcasting applications. The five position bass control enhances its 'all-round' capability.
It has been a standard microphone in studios and live sound since the 1960s. It is a large diaphragm cardioid dynamic mic. most commonly used on close miking toms and brass as well as for guitar cabs as it can withstand very high levels of SPL.
